Miscarriage,Fostering,Adoption, and Raising a Son w/Autism
"I got to the point to where I had to just wake up each day and choose to believe that God had a good plan for me. I had to wake up and choose hope each day even when I didn't feel like hope was true for me". I so love that Lauren said that during our interview and she shares so many more honest and vulnerable times in her life as she journeyed into motherhood.
In this episode Lauren Casper and I talk about miscarriage, foster care, their adoption process with their two children from Ethiopia, how she once built walls around her heart but then found herself surrendering, to give herself the freedom to feel the feelings that she needed to feel. WE talk about her son Mareto and his diagnosis with autism and how that led her write this awesome book, "It's Okay About It: Lessons from a Five Year Old About Living Life Wide Open".

Because I know you're awesome like that! And we all know it takes a village. So the more we share the more we can come together, roar together and conquer this thing called life together.
If you are like me, you have hardly anytime to sit down much less READ. I have made it a point this year to read more books. Because we cannot grow without learning. But the mom life makes it almost impossible right? That's where I have found my love for Audible. I can fold laundry, walk the dog, cook dinner or be in the car and listening to a good book. Whether it's a self help or fiction book I can fit my reading time in while doing other things at the same time. Multi-tasking! What moming is all about!
